Bayala Sydney Language Research Database
Bayala is an Indigenous language database collection created by researcher Jeremy Steele.
The State Library version of this database is a simplification of it for the purpose of online use. The full Bayala Sydney database presents all the Sydney language records that could be found. Each record is respelt consistently, analysed into stem and suffixes, and by part of speech, word category (e.g. body part, fauna, flora etc.) as well as providing detailed notes on the original source compiler and specific page and line number references to the original source. The Sydney Language Bayala database consists of nearly 12,000 records. The original source documents are held by a range of cultural institutions.
